Pathway to the Olympics

The Olympics are a bold goal. Sports don’t just land in the Olympics by luck or even popularity. It takes years of coordinated efforts and, even then, there are no guarantees. However, many of the steps we must take as a sport are clear. That’s why the IRF exists.

Keep in mind, some of these steps take years to achieve. For instance, GAISF membership requires 5 years of existence as an International Federation before consideration is possible. The IRF fully understands the time and commitment necessary to reaching the lofty goal of being part of the Olympic Games. We’re ready to do the work to get us there.

While it may be a long path to reach our ultimate goals, moving in this direction now and staying laser focused on our mission of proliferating roundnet worldwide serves to create greater opportunities for players, organizers, and fans of the sport in the process.
